Description

Instructions

Select one of the three portrait projects to begin. Print the step by step guide for that lesson. Gather glue, scissors, pen/pencil, and a colored paper along with a card stock paper for your canvas. Participants can either use a photo as a reference, a mirror, or their imagination. Identify the major shapes in the figure: circle for head, ovals for eyes, rectangle for mouth, strips for hair, etc. These can be sketched in pencil first on your canvas or an a scrap piece of paper. Using scissors cut shapes from the colored paper. Being creative with color choices as you see fit. Put your figure together layering paper adhering it with glue and allowing time to dry. Details can be added with pen or marker. Take a photo of the completed piece and send to contact@ruthstable.org to be included in Enduring Inspiration, a virtual community exhibition.
